Hey guys, here goes with the first post on the new-look Emma Wells blog! As we all know, Emma has very recently completed her first solo recording project with the highly-renowned artist development academy Major Music, in London. Her debut EP is going to be released this November and we are about to embark on a sizeable and rather exciting promotional campaign, with the aim of driving Emma’s music out to the masses and creating as much interest as humanly possible, during the build-up to this release!

Part of that campaign will involve a number of live events, starting with an intimate and exclusive Acoustic Live Lounge gig at Woodcote House in Chester, which takes place on the evening of Saturday 1st September and will be performed to a limited number of very lucky guests (ticket info etc to follow very soon).

This will be followed by another live music event at Alexander’s in Chester, off the back of the highly successful sell-out launch gig there in May of this year. In fact, because of the level of interest generated by the event back in May, three more of these nights will take place between now and Christmas: 16th September, 28th October and 9th December (all Sunday nights)! What’s more, we are very glad to announce that, in a bid to support up-and-coming musical talent in the Chester area, we will be offering three support slots on each night to talented local artists who are serious about their music and making a career in the industry - we know all too well how difficult it is to get opportunities when you’re an unknown solo artist starting out!! Tickets will be available for these events really soon, more news on this to follow.

There will be plenty of other announcements about Emma’s music during the build-up to 12/11/12. First though watch out for the pics from Emma’s album photo shoot in August and, more excitingly, look out for Emma’s first official music video which is being shot at the start of September, for the lead single from the forthcoming EP!!

One last note - we’d like to hear from talented musicians in the Chester area this month. We have one or two great opportunities at the moment, for strong musicians to accompany Emma as part of her full live band at the above-mentioned events and much more. In the longer term, there will also be further opportunities to get involved in song-writing and musical production, for those who are interested in these areas! Talented singer-songwriter Emma Wells is the exciting breakthrough musical talent from Chester. Emma has loved music from a very young age and is now producing her own unique brand of contemporary and mature soul music. Emma has many musical influences from a range of genres including soul, country, folk and pop (click to hear some of Emma’s latest original productions).

Emma first began professional vocal training, to fine-tune her singing ability, in Cheshire just a couple of years ago. Her talent was eventually recognised after she reached the 2010 live area final of Open Mic UK - the country’s biggest un-televised national singing competition. Here she performed as one of just twenty unsigned artists, who were chosen by industry judges as the best in the area from thousands of auditionees.

Emma wowed the judges with her rich vocals, performing trademark unique and up-to-date cover versions of classic soul songs. The competition judges were so impressed with her that they put her in touch with record label BGM in London. She is now a member at BGM’s highly-renowned singing academy - Major Music, who are recognised as the country’s leading artist development company. They have developed highly-successful recording artists like Pixie Lott, amongst others.

Emma now travels to London on a regular basis to work with some of the most talented vocal coaches and songwriters, co-producing and recording her own original material. Emma’s self-written debut EP will be released this Autumn, showcasing rich, distinctive and soulful vocals blended with contemporary instrumentals and radio-friendly melodies.

Naturally, Emma’s distinctive voice has attracted great interest and recent live performances have produced fantastic reviews. She has sung to significant audiences around the country; Recent gigs have been at the exclusive London music venues “The Star Of Kings” and “The Workshop”, as well as live performances in the North West, at The Garrick Theatre in Manchester and at Chester’s best known music venue “Alexander’s”.

Emma can also be found in more intimate venues, performing her mesmerising Acoustic Live Lounge - captivating stripped-back versions of her latest original material combined with carefully chosen cover songs, performed in Emma’s own unique style of course.
